Just watched Pans Labyrinth. Fantastic movie but extremely violent scenes which I didn't count on as thought it was going to be more fantasy.
The blind man at the table I'll say no more about so as not to ruin the story but what a ghoulish character reminiscent of a Hellraiser character.
I now must look up more on the Spanish Civil War as I know that socialists including Britain joined the International Brigades against the fascists who were backed by the Nazis but that I'm sad to say this is were my knowledge ends. The only other thing I seem to remember is that to get political messages across in films the only ones that got under the censors were porn films apparently!

The blind man bit is one of those that stays with you, it really is a nightmarish scene reminiscent of childhood fears, well mine anyway |
