As Day of the Triffids and Night of the Comet are both instances of watching a phenomana at night that either blinds you or turns you zombie and then to dust, I was wondering who would be survivors of these?
Here are a few I can think of:
Babies as in bed early, though who would be around to care for them.
Miners doing night shifts.
People living in 24 hour daylight at the time.
Submariners underwater at the time.
People in hospital that are in operations or recovering from anesthetics.
Any more? This would mean quite a few people would be still around in both films that were useful members of society _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/

Submariners!!!
Hey, cool! What about a film about a dozen of militars comming back to USA or UK from an special mission in the deep waters of Pacific Ocean or whatever. They can't get any signal on the radio from their headquarters. And when arrive to the coast... the dead roamming the Earth. The Hunt of the Dead October...
Seems to be a ripp of Planet of Apes... _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

Peter: I'm here, man!
Roger: Don't do it until you are sure I *am* coming back!

They would have a nuclear sub at their disposal to go anywhere in the world, food supplies for a month or more and would be able to find a safe island if they wanted. Could have zombies hanging onto the sub, or the dead being torpedoed out of the sub
