Based on the perfect comic (sorry, graphic novel) by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith.
The co... graphic novel is absolutely gorgeous. Some vampires decide to take over the inhabitants of Barrow, a little village in northern Alaska where there are 30 days of night every year... Who could stop them when there's no daylight?

Release date October, 19 (in USA and some places; here in Spain we would must wait some more, for sure).
From the comic:
There are two sequels: Dark days and Return to Barrow.

Fantastic art work Sounds like a great story too. |
The art work is absolutely gorgeous. I relly love all Ben Templesmith's works. "I know, it's only photoshop but I like it"...

They also use "analogic" painting, , but always a touch (or much more) of photoshop. _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

Mow I can't find the clip when they are searching for food and batteries at the supermarket. Then they battle against a little vampire girl very dangerous... _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

I have just seen the first ten minutes. There are a few changes from the comic, but looks good. I quit it when I saw the first kill ("stone, paper, scissors"). Nata want's to see the film with me. _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

I saw it yesterday night with Nata. She enjoyed the film more than me, if I have to tell you the truth.
If you didn't read the comic book you would like even more the film. But Nata and me really love the comics. In the film the vampires act only as a mug of zombies would act. In the comic they appeared many times talking about what to do to find the last survivors hidden in the village. So this is a great zombie film only bassed in surveillance along the 30 days. So I enjoyed the film in this way: survival horror and vampizeds (the vampires are really impresive and totally hideous with the faces always covered with blood, dry or fresh, or both of them). The comic goes longer and deeper ,but the film is ok and very pretty (obviously a screnner is not the best way to see a movie's beauty photography). Worth the view. But, believe me, father, the best horror film for 2007 will be [REC]. I'm sure... _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

I'll have to look into that one, until you posted I hadn't heard of it. Always a shame when your too big a fan of something as the films rarely fulfil your hopes. Land of the Dead I waited years for and though OK it is a shadow of his former glories. _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/

Yes, that's what always takes place in these cases. But the film is great, a great survival horror film plenty of gorgeous moments. But Land... Land is like Robert Rodriguez's last zombie film: bang bang bang and bang.
Is that Zombie Planet or some such title, any good or really just inane shoot it up _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.
