Great!
I´ve just seen it.
I remember that back in my college years, there was a video series called "Trauma" (I don´t know if it´s an official title) the series runned from I to IV i believe. It contained a little of everything. Executions (shots, hanged, burned, decapitated people) riot scenes, war sequences, morgue reports, suicidals, etc., etc. All in one grotesque, bizarre and creepy show extravaganza.
After a few sequences the perception that is real people catched on video begins to disapear, you can tell it is a gore movie. God, I can´t believe it was in some video rentals of my home town! jejeje _________________ It ain´t over ´til it´s OVER! |

That reminds me of the series called Faces of Death and again not for me as real people. One was of a woman who's family couldn't afford to keep the grave up so she was dug up and they found that when the body and decomposed there was a baby inside, just horrible and a bit sick for me - imagination imagination that's what I want, life is grim enough without torture and death films as that really does happen in most countries in the world including our own. _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/

Yuck! that´s disgusting.
You´re right father, "real" life is so grim already and in top of that many people pay money to spend two hours or so watching a grotesque film. Ironic indeed.
Adding a little bit more to that matter, here in México a sort of "tabloid" is published called "ALARMA!", i call it "the poors` Fangoria Magazine" jeje . This "newspaper" is all about police reports of bloody and grotesque murders, it´s full of photos of the victims showing everything, i mean everything. That tabloid has been in the market for so long that i really think that morbidity sells pretty good.
Anyway... _________________ It ain´t over ´til it´s OVER! |

Indeed. I'm all for the lovin On that note Merry Christmas, holidays and what ever else to all, the only grim tales I want at this time of year are from Dickens and Romero maybe Scrooge fighting zombies that try and steal Christmas from the living and he fights them using the work house kids as bait and kills them with Holly through their festering blackened hearts signifying some great religious significance that leads to bloody victory and mince pies. God bless us all.

Christmas time is always the time a lot of people die just happens that way. My dad died 12 years a go on December the 8th and a friends mum died last December around the 20th. Whatever time of year it is bad when someone dies but I hope you all had a great festive time and at least got something out of it and remember that life is for the living, supposedly!! I got the Zombie Survival Guide for Christmas - wow - that guys either brilliant and working for some covert organisation and has leaked this book to let us know through fiction that there really is a zombie menace or he is writing from a very well insulated room were he can literally bounce ideas off the wall. _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/

Don't worry, Big! As our Father said, life is for the living (dead).
Nata's mother died the same day of december as your father did, Merrin, the 8th. My birthday was on 5th. I was praying for not to die on my birthday... I wouldn't put up with this.
Now we all have the Survival Guide. Our chances of surveillance are increasing... ...if cancer allows us to live in peace with the living dead, of course.
This is another important point that never appears in a zombie film/booh/story/whatever: your only matters are surveillance against the living dead and get something to eat and drink. And what about sickness? What if your bunker mate is afected by Alzheimer and simply opens the door and go for a walk waveing hello to the hordes of the living dead?
Are you going to worry about zombies all around when you will die in a month of hepatic cancer?
Ummm... interesting... _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

Peter: I'm here, man!
Roger: Don't do it until you are sure I *am* coming back!

I always thought about this as well as if someone died in the night you could be eaten while asleep (in Romero films were just dying leads to zombification) so you'd have to sleep separately so maybe taking over a prison or monastery high up on a mountain with individual units would be the best defence against this. Human error whether medical or otherwise is a concern for the living all the time and once again I think Max Brooks should give maps of all nuclear reactors in the world so that you make sue that whatever your destination you don't get blown up or radiated after surviving the initial onslaught. _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/

Thanks both of you!
I appreciate.
Thinking about your last comment and Father´s last post, that´s right. you never know with whom you´re gonna end up inside the bunker. I will expand a little bit what you mentioned. As i see it i spotted this two big concerns:
The "Microcosmos":
Diseases, Physical and psychological. Not to mention the ones that develop under stress circumstances triggered by seclusion.
Ok, maybe some people in your bunker will suffer any chronic disease that needs permanent attention. Cancer, Diabetes, AIDS/HIV, Epiletics, Hepatic or else. Food, Medical, and Basic Sanitary conditions must be taken for them. On the case of psychological, a plan must be traced to put that people under permanent watching and/or confined in some areas which not will jeopardize the security of the survivors (came to my mind 30 days of night). They will not be allowed to carry any weapons or be in charge of watch shifts.
The "Macrocosmos":
Outside dangers (not including, of course, zombies).
Climate: Nature will still do its work any way or another, so, the bunker must be prepared for all the seasons and unpredictable events. Is your bunker near to a river which could overflow or on a flood zone?, near a mountain with avalanche, mud or rock slide risks? on the path of hurricanes or tornadoes? In a Earthquake zone? etc.
Manmade: As told by F. Merrin: Are you far enough from any nuclear facility, Celulose or Chemical plant? far enough from main Oil or Gas pipeline, Oil or Natural Gas facilities? far from any densely populated city or town? far from any main road or freeway? etc.
Well, hope this widen a little bit this subject. See you later guys! _________________ It ain´t over ´til it´s OVER! |

Excellent work Big and goes back to a small Island survival and grow your own food and use the mainland just to rummage for supplies in the short term as in the long term all things must be maintained by your own competence. I saw a report once about how many nuclear subs, ships, planes etc that had sunk in the worlds sea and oceans with nuclear reactors and bombs slowly degrading under the sea, quite depressing. Smoking a kipper will have a whole new meaning. _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/
