yeah! 70´s films had an unique atmosphere, now it is exploided on rockers videos and such. what a shame.
Here in méxico there is a very famous (considered) "horror" trilogy directed by a guy named Carlos Enrique Taboada: "hasta el viento tiene miedo" (1968) , "Más negro que la noche" (1975) y "Veneno para las hadas" (1984).
"trilogy" is just a technicism, due to the fact that those films were made in different times and topics, but it is considered the master work of this guy.
"Mas negro que la noche" ("darker than night" sort of translating) was the very first "horror" movie i ever saw, and it was toped by "the exorcist" many years later.
70´s horror films rule!

I saw the remake a few months ago and, in my opinion, does not any justice to the original.
Never reached that little thing you mentioned as "the atmosphere" of the original, due to the fact that is not a monster, slasher or psycho movie in which the visual or special effects replace the script.
"Hasta el viento tiene miedo" (original) is the kind of movie with a very good script, needing nothing more.
Perhaps, the only good addition in this new version are the pretty and not justified nude scenes (by the way, a classic trade mark in horror films, jeje!) yummy, Martha Igareda is hot! jejejeje!
original worths the seeing.
see you around! _________________ It ain´t over ´til it´s OVER! |

Hey, I downloaded last week the one entitled "Hasta el viento tiene miedo"! I'll manage to watch it asap.
The filmaker's surname, Taboada, is my second surname (in Spain we got two surnames and usually only one name). This is not a common surname, believe me. _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

Peter: I'm here, man!
Roger: Don't do it until you are sure I *am* coming back!

That´s great! hope you can post soon a comment about it.
You must see also "más negro que la noche" but be sure that your pretty, pretty little cats don´t see it. This movie is something like "the exorcist for kittens" you will find out why... jejeje
kisses and big hugs to them!

Wow!
Now you can be proud of an "uncle" that made a very good work for mexican horror films, huh? _________________ It ain´t over ´til it´s OVER! |
