Amazing news! Specially for you, Father! I know you love both series.

The fourth episode of the new Survivors series is going to be released. Check the official web out: http://www.bbc.co.uk/survivors/
Have you seen it, Father? Did you like it?

And even more gorgeous: they, the BBC, is going to remake the 80s series The Day of the Triffids. This notice really freaks me out. I love this series. I bought the dvd by amazon a couple of years ago.

Triffids returning to television

The 1981 version starred John Duttine and Emma Relph
A new television adaptation of classic sci-fi story The Day of The Triffids is being made by the BBC.
The drama, about menacing plants taking over the world, will be shown in two feature-length episodes next year.
Casting for the show, which will be adapted by ER screenwriter Patrick Harbinson, has yet to be decided.
The BBC has made three TV versions of John Wyndham's classic, the most recent being in 1981. Four radio dramas have also been produced.
The most recent was in 2001, when two hour-long episodes were broadcast on the BBC World Service.
End of humankind
The new incarnation of the Triffids with their fatal sting will be shown in High Definition for the first time.
It is billed as a "fast-paced, futuristic and electrifying take" on Wyndham's work.
Julie Gardner, head of drama at BBC Wales said: "We're hoping to attract a legion of new fans as well as give nightmares to a new generation of viewers."
Set in 2011, millions of people are blinded when they observe a meteor shower, leading to a breakdown in civilisation.
The Triffids, an oil-producing plant crop, escape captivity and begin to breed rapidly and attack people.
It is up to Dr Bill Masen to fight against them to prevent the end of humankind.
The new adaptation is due to start filming in London and the south-east later this year.

Survivors, ummm, OK so far, very rushed and not as well constructed as the original or as dark, but will wait and see over the six episodes.

Day of the Triffids so good as a BBC series before I hope they do better than the new Survivors.

Oh, I expected so... When you love anything so much, every attempt to change it is like a kick in the bottom. This didn't happen with Snyder's remake... but it's common.
I see the first episode yesterday and found it interesting. As in every zombie movie: the Hell is the others. You could survive a horrible plague, but will you survive in a struggle for living among the other survivors? This is not easy, father...
There is a character, the one that scapes from the jail, that is a mere shadow of Steve McQueen, the bloody bastard. I love McQueen!

And the Triffids... All I hope is that the Triffids take the same role as in the book and the old series: they are not the main reason for the apocalipsis. The mankind gets blind because the meteor lights and the triffids reclaim their new place on our (their) world.

I'm thinking about how much I love the triffids series and why. And I've just found the reason: I want three or four blind womans! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I´m starting to feel like an amish (i´ve got only open TV) and getting tired of Doctor House, Bones, CSI and all the fkn crappy US TV comedies. Sad
I´m missing all the fun.

I just hope that local TV buy that series soon.
