Yes, the 80's BBC series. I was managing to get it for free (you know, he he), but it's really difficult. I'm thinking about buying it by Amazon. I NEED IT!

It looks like a program about 70's hippies now growing organic veg I always liked it when someone turned up in a chemical suit and gave it a bit more sci-fi. The concept was excellent. Another Terry Nation series of Doctor Who fame and I believe he was Blakes 7 as well. _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/

I think that this is what I 'm looking for (the first three entries): http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/026-9016740-6058833?url=search-alias%3Ddvd&field-keywords=Survivors But it seems that these copies didn't have any subtitles (nor spanish, nor english at least). Nata, errr, Barbara, need some help to understand what they are saying... well, and me too... _________________ Peter: Just rest, man. Save your strength.

BBC Drama Productions has acquired the rights from the Terry Nation Estate to develop the Seventies drama series Survivors, it was announced today by Jane Tranter, BBC Controller, Fiction.
Set in the present day, the new series will be written by Adrian Hodges (Ruby In The Smoke, Shadow In The North, Charles II and Primeval) for transmission on BBC One.
Launched in April 1975 on BBC One, Survivors ran for 38 episodes over three series.
The cult series focussed on a post-apocalyptic world, in the aftermath of a devastating plague which wipes out over 99% of the world's population, and how a group of individuals grappled with the trials of day-to-day survival.
Kate Harwood, Head of Series and Serials, BBC Drama Production, says: "The opportunity to remake Survivors for a modern generation proved irresistible.
"After months of negotiations, I am delighted that one of British television's great cult series will return with original stories packed with adventure and spirit set against the backdrop of our own recognisable world."
Adrian Hodges says: "Survivors was one of the bravest and most exciting programmes of its time and I'm thrilled to be involved with re-imagining it for a new audience.
"I remember its original impact vividly and I hope we can make a similar impression with the new version.
"Its themes remain as relevant as ever and while we will be staying faithful to many aspects of the original, we will also be bringing the story into the 21st Century and make it accessible to contemporary audiences."
BBC Drama Productions is a world leader in producing much loved and critically-acclaimed dramas, from classic adaptations such as the much-loved Cranford starring Dame Judi Dench and Jane Eyre, to last year's tense thriller The State Within, and next year's long-awaited adaptations of Lark Rise To Candleford and Sense And Sensibility.
A BBC Drama Production for BBC One, the executive producer of Survivors is Susan Hogg. |

Just watched the first two episodes and they are incredible. Didn't think they'd still be so good looking so 70's. Very well written and totally takes in the ideas of Day of the Triffids and runs with it. _________________ http://zombi-blogia.blogspot.co.uk/

Sounds great!
hope it could reach this lands.
I think that right now there´s a global latent craving for apocalyptical TV series, not to mention the zombie/survival subject, i wonder why some projects that had been anounced, never got enough attention or promotion.
Hope we could enjoy in the near future a really 5+ seasons zombie project jeje! _________________ It ain´t over ´til it´s OVER! |

Hello Father!
yeah, that´s what you comment is a real pitty.
But, what do they (the producers) expect? seems like we have to seat tight for a while and wait for some miniserials kind of thing, so, 5 or 7 chapters and voilá! no need for kilometric seasons. jeje!
Nice to see you posting Father! hope you and your lovely family are OK! _________________ It ain´t over ´til it´s OVER! |

Watched the two new episodes and the show is still interesting. I just find that, at least in these last episodes, the ending was way fast... I mean, looks like the script took a little time to finish things. _________________ Croquetas
